Pleasant Garden, North Carolina NC - Selling one 1966 CHEVROLET CAPRICE. This Caprice started as a 1:25th scale resin kit from Modelhaus. The model is similar to the automobile dealer's promotional cars given to prospective customers during the 50s and 60s. It has no opening parts. The carpet is flocked in green, I have added an outside and inside rear view mirrors plus a turn signal lever and floor shifter. The outside mirror was secured with a post glued in the door. This will help keep the part on the car much better than just gluing to a flat surface. After preparing the parts I applied automotive primer which provides a solid base to hold the color coats. Using BASF Diamont polyester base coat automotive paint, I applied Willow Green Poly base coat on the body and flat black on the vinyl top, followed with urethane clear coats on the body. The body was wet sanded and polished to a mirror smooth finish. The interior is finished in Willow green with some woodgrain trim.
